In Bruges

May 22nd, 2008 by J. Celestino

In Bruges is an interesting black comedy starring Collin Farrell. I must say it is a hysterical film after you get past the first 15 minutes. The first 15 are painfully slow but its plot exposition, it has to go somewhere. Farrell pulls off a fantastic dramatic/comedic performance and I suggest finding this film and giving it a go. I was lucky enough to see the film at a theatre that serves beer. The film goes really well with beer. Below is a clip that might be a little out of context but you’ll get a good sense of what the film is like.

Firefox 3 and favicons.

May 8th, 2008 by J. Celestino

I’ve downloaded the new Firefox 3 beta and I must say I like it quite a bit. Certain plugins don’t work but hey it’s a beta. My only serious beef with it is where the favicons show up now. Designers have been used to the favicons being at the beginning of the address bar and design accordingly. Now it seems we are all going to have to design with transparency in mind and break the box format somewhat, as it looks terrible in the new firefox. It seems unbalanced and odd to have a square favicon in this new address bar.

I’ll see what I can come up with in the coming days. I needed to change my favicon anyway. :-p

Time Suck

May 5th, 2008 by J. Celestino

I’ve been a fan of Mario Kart since the SNES days. So when the latest installment hit stores this past week I went through my couch for loose change and took back a few used games to pick up a copy. It has since consumed me. The wifi connect option plays amazinglly well but the whole number friend invite thing is rather combersome.

There are two great additions to this revision of the game. First there is the ability to race bikes which is terribly fun. Even better than bikes is the addition of legacy tracks from different versions of the game. Very cool addition. If you have a copy maybe I’ll see you on wifi connect.
