Speaking Role

February 10th, 2009 by J. Celestino

So I’ve decided to make a podcast of short stories and other writings from the past few years. I thought it would b a good exercise in diction if nothing else. I’ve uploaded an introduction and the first episode. I’ve included a little player below and the rss feed and iTunes link should you want to subscribe.

Snowman

January 10th, 2009 by J. Celestino

It has been snowing for the past three days and rather than despair over the snowfall, I decided to make a snowman. You can tell he’s my creation, he’s a little over dramatic.

The Eclair Collection

December 31st, 2008 by J. Celestino

So after a weekend hanging with friends in Texas I had a bunch of random footage. All taken with the movie mode of my little cybershot camera. So I took all that footage and tried my best to make a cohesive thing out of it. Anyway this is the result, nicely filled with cliches. It’s a small film for my friends.

Zack and Miri make a Porno

November 2nd, 2008 by J. Celestino

I caught Zack and Miri this weekend and I must say it was a lot funnier than I thought it would be. Oddly the movie doesn’t look like a Kevin Smith film and aside from the gratuitous addition of Jennifer Schwalbach as the class reunion organizer and of course Jason Mewes, you may not even know it was a Smith film. Seth and Banks work really well together in this film and every minor role is played amazingly well. Justin Long is nothing short of brilliant, The rest of the cast holds up really well including Tisha Campbell’s 5 minutes, which are fantastic. It wasn’t ground breaking nor does it even nudge the envelope, other than having the word porno in the title and some nudity, it is actually kind of a tame movie.

Smith is notorious for having the worst musical soundtracks, the guy really should leave those editorial decisions to someone else but in this film, other than the Primus choice in the opening, he doesn’t fall flat on his face. Which doesn’t say much but for those of us who think music is important it’s huge.

Below is the end result. If you dig it you can subscribe via iTunes or RSS, as I’m sure this won’t be the last of them.

Time Suck

May 5th, 2008 by J. Celestino

I’ve been a fan of Mario Kart since the SNES days. So when the latest installment hit stores this past week I went through my couch for loose change and took back a few used games to pick up a copy. It has since consumed me. The wifi connect option plays amazinglly well but the whole number friend invite thing is rather combersome.

There are two great additions to this revision of the game. First there is the ability to race bikes which is terribly fun. Even better than bikes is the addition of legacy tracks from different versions of the game. Very cool addition. If you have a copy maybe I’ll see you on wifi connect.

Socialthing!

April 21st, 2008 by J. Celestino

Some people have been talking about friendfeed as way to keep up with all their web 2.0 goodies from the same place. I however received an invite to Socialthing!. It is much nicer and a beautiful interface and a great mobile iphone edition. If it only had a twitteriffic type application that went along with it, it would be perfect.

I have a few invites left to Socialthing! so if you’d like one follow me on twitter or pownce and send me a note. Links in the sidebar.

Magibon

April 16th, 2008 by J. Celestino

For those not in the know Magibon is a rather strange youtube starlette. She makes short videos usually of absolutely nothing. I truly mean nothing. She stares at the camera and maybe flashes the peace sign before the video ends in this pseudo japanese girl kind of way. She speaks japanese but is an american however and it was thought the whole thing was a viral campaign for a j-horror film but its just a girl turning japanese on youtube. Watch the video below and you’ll immediately say…”Thats it?” Then you’ll watch the next ten of her videos. I half expect to need to buy something or quite smoking after watching them.
